My name is Chris Freer, I was born in Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire in April 1972 but spent most of my childhood living in Bourne, South Lincolnshire. I moved to Cockermouth, Cumbria in 1999. I recently married my partner Rachel and we live together with our two Border Terriers, Jack & Molly. I have been taking photographs for 22 years, since the age of 13 when I was lucky enough to be bought my first SLR camera for Christmas, and even luckier to have parents that continued to buy film for me to practice even though most pictures at that time should have been thrown away. I still own that camera and find it interesting to look at it now and again to see how things have moved on. I purchased my first digital camera in 1999 and soon realised that this opened up new opportunities and the ability to capture many more images than using conventional film cameras. I estimate that I have taken 35,000 / 40,000 photographs in the past 8 years.
"For a few years now, I have been lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful areas of Britain, the Cumbrian Lake District, and I hope through my photographs to capture some of this beauty and interest for everyone"
